2017 Summer Room Upgrades
As part of the Strategic Plan for Reinvestment in Learning Spaces, we regularly upgrade and add new features to our learning spaces. This year was the first time that we included some restricted learning spaces in our summer upgrades. Projects were selected based on feedback from Timetable Representatives, the Learning Space Advisory Committee, and other stakeholders.
Our process starts with an on-site walk through and consultation between Facilities Planning, UBC IT Audio Visual, and the main users of the room. From there, we design and implement projects ranging from technology upgrades, new room amenities, and cosmetic renovations.
Over the summer of 2017, more than 100 learning spaces received room upgrades. We have:

Refreshed AV equipment in 45 rooms

Painted 25 rooms

Installed 126 whiteboards

Added 20 clocks
-
Installed 16 bulletin boards
